Japanese vintage kimekomi doll of young aristocrat of Heian
era dancing SEI- KAI-HA or War Dance, about 1950's
Very rare Japanese vintage doll made traditionally in
technique represents young nobleman
dressed in rich costume and black court hat, adorned with
peony flowers and with big sword tachi attached to his belt.
He performs special dance SEI KAI HA for New Year celebration.
The doll made in kimekomi technique. Doll's face finished
in gofun (crashed oyster shell) and hand-painted.
This doll crafted about 1950's (Showa period) ensuring the
finest quality and craftsmanship. Wooden stand with artist
name come with.
